Skill Tree

Every skill in the game comes from matching traits across your herd. Skins and colours run two separate ladders, and a herd climbs both at once — so a lineup can be Pack on its skin and Pride on its colour, and collect from each.

How a rung is earned

Count how many of your fielded dinos share a trait. That count is the rung, and you keep every rung below it. Companion tiers are live — a fighter that falls stops counting, so a herd can drop a rung mid-battle.

Solo

1+ matching

A single dino carries the trait. Only the sharpest skins do anything at all here.

Pack

2+ matching

Two matching. This is where most traits switch on, and where a herd starts to have a plan.

Pride

4+ matching

Four matching. Half your herd committed to one idea, and paid back with a real escalation.

Full Herd

9 matching

Every fighter matching. The signature effect, and the reason collectors chase a single skin.

Full Herd counts against the format you are fielding — 9 for a Complete Nine, six for a Core Six. A smaller format reaches its signature rung sooner.

Stacking the two ladders

Skin and colour are counted separately, so a herd earns from both at once. Six Apres dinos in six different colours is a Full Herd skin and nothing at all on colour; six Charcoal dinos across six skins is the reverse.

The interesting builds sit in between. Four Apres Charcoal plus two Apres Mist is Pride on Charcoal and Full Herd on Apres — you give up Ember Shell to keep Avalanche, and that trade is the game.

A dino only ever counts once per ladder, so there is no way to hold two skins at Full Herd. Every signature effect costs you every other signature effect.

Numbers here are read from the live balance profile, so this page and the battle engine can never disagree.
